T minus 12 days and counting! WOW! My nerves are starting to kick in... yet still very excited. All preparations are complete except of course the packing, which can be a story in itself! I'll let you know how that one goes... I do know this, it's not exactly what I'm accustomed to. Who knew going to Africa would cause me to go out and get dresses!!! I was told by our project leader that Ugandan people, as a whole, "dress for success". (not the t-shirt and flip flop kinda girl I am) We have since found out we will depart out of New Orleans, then to Detroit, Amsterdam then finally Entebee, Africa! It will be about a 20 hour flight, not including lay-overs! JET LAG here we come!
We have the most amazing church ever... VICTORY BAPTIST CHURCH. They are truly our family and just as one would, has come together to support Koone and I in every way possible. We love you and cannot thank you enough! Not to go without saying our own family and friends as well. We continue to ask for your prayers. Along with saying the above prayer myself... I need peace and comfort as we leave our boys to make this trip. I am with them 24/7, this will be difficult for me. We also ask prayer for those keeping the boys: Koone's mom and dad, Sherry and Rusty, will be keeping Wes, seeing that he gets to and from school; and my mom, Debbie, will keep Beau. And lastly, pray for our safety, God's protection, for us and our family. Thank you all, we couldn't do this without you! But let the glory be to God, Jesus Christ our Savior.
